Kathryn Treadway didn't expect this.
Few around the Cathedral High School volleyball program did, and how could they? After all, the Irish hadn't lost 10 matches in a season in Head Coach Jean Kesterson's previous 18 seasons.
This season, the Irish went 17-16.
But although Kesterson and Treadway – one of three seniors in the Irish program this season – said without question the record was reality, and while it was part of the story, it was only that: part of the story. The bigger story, each said, was what the program overcame this season, the lessons the players learned, and the foundation built for the future.
And each believe it's a bright, bright future.
