A DIFFERENT KIND OF YEAR

It was, Paul Schroeder said, something of a strange year.

Yes, the Cathedral High School boys soccer team largely depended upon two players for much of its offensive success. And no, Schroeder said, that's not how the Irish usually play.

Still . . .

The Irish went 13-3-3 and regained the City Championship. They regained a state ranking. They also regained the sectional championship.

So, if the season was a strange one, make no mistake:

It was very much a successful one, too.
